corporate media vs democratization of journalism
Corporate media is a term which refers to a system of mass media production, distribution, ownership, and funding which is dominated by corporation and their CEOs. There are six companies that control the media which are, GE, news corp, Disney, Viacom, time Warner and CBS.
An example of corporate media is ABC News Alexander Malin and Jake Letterman reported. In an emotional house committee on veterans, a panel of parents decried failures in the VA and the department of defense as contributing to the mental pressure that makes their sons to kill themselves. The mother of deceased army veteran Brian Portuine blamed the VA and DOD for clearing her son redeployment after multiple traumatic combat experiences. " Upon returning from the second deployment in 2010. Brian with DTSD, TBI , depression and anxiety", Port wine said, " i never knew of his conditions. If the DOD and VA assessed Brian for high suicide risk, it was their duty to treat him, but he received nothing." Miller said he will be looking for ways to hold VA officials accountable for any evidence to fix the problem. http://abcnews.go.com/blogs/politics/2014/07/veteran-suicides-draw-tearful-families-to-capitol-hill/
Democratic Journalism is where news and stories are ranked by a vote among the stories and readers. This is due to the creation of social networking sites. This would also have different meanings in First, Second and Third world nations. The democratic role of journalism transcends excessive commercialism, sensationalism, and manipulation by the media websites.

World cup 2014 to break social media records. Fans of Brazil star forward Neymar was forced to miss the game because of a severe injury, the fans were disappointed. The problem with democratic journalism is that the social media websites tell you what they want you to hear not what the public wants to hear. http://articles.chicagotribune.com/2014-07-09/entertainment/sns-201407090639reedbusivarietyn1201259646-20140709_1_fifa-world-cup-tweets-rio-ferdinand
ABCs Diane Sawyer misrepresents footage of Palestinian bombing victims. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k-m4PlW-KgI more than fifty Palestinians have been killed and another 450 wounded since Monday in Israel's ongoing assault on the besieged Gaza besieged strip, by the Israeli army. In one example, ABC news Diane sawyer misidentifies scenes of the aftermath of Israeli missile strikes in Gaza as destruction caused by Palestine rocket fire. Sawyer says, " We take you overseas now to the rockets raining down on Israel today as Israel tried to shoot them out of the sky."
I personality think as long as we have both medias we'll be okay but, the social media websites need to start informing us on what is happening around the world not just sports, celebrities, etc..

Corporate media won't inform us on anything unless it helps them in some way.
